Position Summary:

The Coordinator, Sexual Violence Prevention Education will serve as a member of a larger integrative team within the Brook Center, which houses sexual violence prevention education, LGBTQ+ student services, mental health education, and health equity education. As a critical member of this team, the Coordinator will directly oversee sexual violence prevention education for all undergraduate students in alignment with Title IX, VAWA, and Campus SaVE guidance, and will serve as the primary coordinator and contact for the Green Dot initiative campus wide. Education topics include sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, consent, bystander intervention, and supporting survivors. The following responsibilities will be central to this role:

• Serve as the primary manager of the Green Dot initiative, including co-facilitating the 6 hour training, creating booster events throughout the year (including planning Green Dot Week), chairing the Green Dot team, recruiting early adopters (training participants), advising the Green Dot special interest house(s), and creating opportunity for student leadership in bystander intervention education
• Create, implement, and assess comprehensive, trauma-informed, evidence-based educational programming on sexual violence prevention education through classroom presentations and partnering with student organizations. Education will be targeted to all students, with specific programs designed for entering students, upperclass students, and natural male cohorts (fraternities, athletic teams, etc.).
• Serve as the primary co-adviser to PAVE, the 30 student peer education program, including serving as instructor for UDI 403, their 1 credit hour mini course.
• Build collaborations with offices and departments across campus, including faculty and the Equity Compliance Office, to further the strategic goals related to the unit’s mission
• Create tailored educational campaigns for underrepresented student populations, including international students, students of color, LGBTQ+ student populations, etc.
• Articulate and enact a vision to the campus community of a campus free from power based personal violence and a community that is engaged, educated, and empowered
• Stay up to date on national trends, best practices, and new violence prevention research across disciplines (public health, psychology, sociology, etc)
• Assess programming and maintain a commitment to constant improvement
• Maintain website for sexual violence prevention education and Green Dot content
• Serve on division wide committees, as appropriate

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in related field with two years full-time professional experience in sexual violence prevention education working with college students OR Masters degree in College Student Personnel or related field
• Experience and expertise in working with sexuality education in higher education, including educating on any of the following topics such as gender, bystander intervention, consent, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, survivor experience, perpetration patterns, hook up culture, and/or rape culture
• High attention to detail and strong written communication skills
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• Masters degree in College Student Personnel or related field
• Two years full time working in sexual violence prevention education in a higher education setting
• A thorough understanding of student development theory
• Ability to thrive in an educational environment that values high expectations, integrity, and leadership, while possessing positive attitude and enthusiasm
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and run large-scale programming both independently and through collaboration across departments
• Exceptional presentation skills and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to inspire others to share a vision, such as a violence free community
• Demonstrated understanding of best practices in violence prevention and responding to survivors of violence using a trauma-informed approach
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully with a diverse community and provide education from a non-judgmental perspective
• Demonstrated ability to engage men in sexual violence prevention education discussions
• Demonstrated experience in working with content related to mental health education, health equity education, and/or LGBTQ+ education
• Experience with the Green Dot program
• Certified in Green Dot facilitation
• Supervision and/or advising experience
• Ability to handle confidential information, work independently, and work as part of a team
• Experience managing a financial budget
• Respect and appreciation for our Catholic and Marianist values

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide.
