The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) is a doctoral/research intensive university, R1 in the Carnegie Classification, and is also Wisconsin’s premier public urban institution offering comprehensive professional, science, and liberal arts education at the undergraduate and graduate level to its 25,000 students.

The College of Engineering & Applied Science (CEAS) is committed to excellence in scholarly research and teaching across all seven departments—Biomedical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The College has approximately 1750 undergraduate students and 450 graduate students, both Master’s and Doctoral. Job Summary
The successful candidate will lead undergraduate and graduate courses and lectures with an expectation of teaching four courses per term. This will include conducting lectures, directing teaching assistants, organizing discussion sections, and organizing lab sections. It will include service such as participating in department meetings, as well as serving on committees related to teaching and curriculum within the department of Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have completed or will complete a doctoral degree by the start date in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related science field and the capability of leading core junior and senior level undergraduate classes in control, mechatronics, machine design, kinematics, vibrations, mechatronics, controls, system dynamics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.

Preferred Qualifications
Desired attributes include teaching experience as well as evidence of the potential to compliment and/or strengthen existing Mechanical Engineering programs or portfolio
