Oglethorpe University (OU) invites applicants for the position of vice president of enrollment management. Reporting to the president and serving as a member of the president’s senior administrative leadership team, the vice president is responsible for developing, communicating and executing an innovative and sustainable enrollment strategy that supports Oglethorpe’s mission and goals.

 

The vice president oversees the dedicated staff in the offices of Admission and Financial Aid and will collaborate with institutional leadership on the development and execution of a holistic enrollment management strategy that addresses the full lifecycle of student enrollment from recruitment to graduation. The vice president will develop effective and compelling communication about the value and impact of an Oglethorpe education, helping to distinguish the university in a competitive admission market.

 

Today, Oglethorpe enrolls 1,415 students, representing over 30 states and 17 countries. Students choose Oglethorpe because of its small class sizes, mentorship provided by committed faculty and staff, internship opportunities in the city of Atlanta and its commitment to affordability. Among its many accolades, Oglethorpe is the only school in Georgia, public or private, to be named among the nation’s top 20 “best buy” schools in the latest Fiske Guide to Colleges. In addition, Forbes ranks Oglethorpe 33rd among America’s most entrepreneurial colleges, and U.S. News & World Report recognizes it as the 14th most diverse student body among liberal arts colleges. The vice president for enrollment management will join Oglethorpe at a moment of potential and will have an opportunity to build more distinction in academic programming, student and alumni success and contributions to the future of liberal arts and sciences education. The vice president will assume a significant and influential position in the university and have the opportunity to make a tangible contribution to the future of OU. This is an opportunity to lead the development of a new enrollment management model and influence campus policy and operations regarding student recruitment and retention. It is expected that the vice president will utilize sophisticated data-informed strategies that result in effective, creative and inspirational approaches to the promotion of campus programs, innovative recruitment ideas, marketing, financial aid leveraging, net tuition revenue goals and retention.

 

This position will provide leadership both for enrollment of traditional undergraduates and to Oglethorpe’s renewed focus on adult learners, offering a vision for long-term enrollment success in the context of ongoing national debates about value and affordability. The vice president will build on Oglethorpe’s success in enrolling a diverse student body while collaborating on strategic opportunities to increase the enrollment funnel. Partnering with the provost, the vice president for student affairs and the campus community on student success initiatives, the vice president will also develop programs to attract new students seeking innovative programs, credentials, certificates or other workforce enhancements.

 

The successful candidate will provide vision, leadership and expertise while demonstrating a deeply collaborative approach to the work and a passion to advance the university’s commitment to build a diverse, equitable and inclusive campus community. The vice president will also be a strong collaborator with excellent interpersonal communication skills and will possess the professional experience that will garner the trust and confidence of the university community.
