Job Summary:

This position is part of the MHS substance use team and will be supervised by the MHS Clinical Director. The Substance Use Health Education Coordinator will build/maintain the MHS Substance Use Health Education Program as well as training MHS interns who will help deliver the suite of programs. This individual will serve as the point of contact of the OSCCS, Housing and Residence Life and be responsible for making sure the process is seamless and effective.

Duties include:
-Set up Training for Facilitators
-Schedule sessions
-Manage workflow for payments through MyUHS
-Schedule Interns to facilitate sessions
-Manage changes to schedule and emergency back-ups
-Analyze Data (preferred)
-Administer and compile evaluations
-Work with campus partners to schedule campus spaces
-Monitor and respond to email
-Manage website content
-Create and update Procedures Manual
-Order supplies - BASICS workbook, BAC cards
-Confirm sanction completion with OSCCS office
-Facilitate and serve as emergency back up
-Provision of additional direct clinical services (optional based on certification)

Responsibilities:

Develops and delivers public health informational programs and materials using the tenets of public health to educate the public and other health professionals, promote the health of the population, and advocate for improved health resources and policies.
  • 60% Advocates for and disseminates health resources, policies, and safety information with educational materials and programs to appropriate entities to educate the public and health professionals
  • 15% Collects and analyzes data by conducting research to improve public health programs and services
  • 20% Develops materials, resources, and policies that support healthy behaviors and environments and informs, educates, and empowers the campus and community about environmental health and mental health issues
  • 5% Participates in public health committees as needed

Qualifications Required:
-Ability to work with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff at UW-Madison
-Must be a strong communicator, including writing, editing, and public speaking
-Demonstrated ability to facilitate and navigate challenging conversations (individually and in groups) about alcohol and drug use, abuse, and recovery
-Highly responsible and effective with deadlines, working independently, self-motivating and following through
-Exceptional organizational skills, including experience with developing and/or utilizing tracking documents for complex projects

Qualifications (Preferred)
-Competitive candidates will have in-depth knowledge of evidence-based collegiate educational program such as BASIC/CASICS
-Trained in and Experience using Motivational Interviewing Skills
-Experience developing and maintaining strategic partnerships and collaborative projects
-Demonstrated ability to appropriately respond to confidential and privileged information
-Experience developing, delivering, and evaluating programs for diverse audiences
-Experience with data collection, data analysis, and report writing
-Experience using Qualtrics, Box, and university-sponsored technologies

License/Certification:
