Description

The School of Human Ecology, Division of Textiles and Apparel seeks applications for non-tenure-track positions (Professor of Instruction and Professor of Practice-POOL) for the 2021- 2022 academic year.

The Division of Textiles and Apparel offers a bachelor's degree in four options: Apparel, Functional and Technical Design, Merchandising and Consumer Sciences, Textiles Conservation and Museum Studies, and Textiles and Apparel Honors. Instructors teach a variety of courses in textiles and clothing including apparel production, merchandising, textile science, history of clothing, product development, computer aided design, visual merchandising, research methods, clothing and human behavior and aesthetics. The program is designed to prepare students for careers in academia and industry.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate course(s) and additional duties which include providing service in teaching, curriculum development, outreach and advising student organizations. Course assignments may vary depending on needs.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold an M.A., M.S., M.F.A., .or Ph.D. in Textiles and Apparel or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education, or equivalent relevant professional experience and teaching experience.

Candidates should provide evidence of teaching excellence and their ability to teach in a multicultural, multi-ethnic research university.
