The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is accepting applications for a full-time, twelve-month, faculty position in the Physician Assistant Studies program (PA) in the Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences (CDS) at the School of Health Professions (SHP).

 

The candidate’s primary responsibilities will include didactic instruction (particularly related to the program’s didactic curriculum), scholarly activities, and student advising. We are also seeking individuals who highly regard opportunities for community service, outreach, and engagement. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of clinical experience in any of the following areas: hospitalist, emergency medicine, and critical care. Candidates must possess at least a master’s degree in a related health sciences discipline and have either a minimum of two years of experience serving as a preceptor for PA or medical students or two years in academia. Salary, academic rank, and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

 

The PA program consists of an energetic and cohesive faculty and is integrated with the UAB Heersink School of Medicine and the surrounding medical community. SHP is one of the nation’s largest and most diverse schools of its type and is home to more than twenty programs at the baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral levels.
