ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER 

Menlo College

Atherton, CA

 

Reports to: Head Athletic Trainer

Position Type: Full-time, exempt positions

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Position Summary:

The Assistant Athletic Trainer reports directly to the Head Athletic Trainer and is also responsible to the Assistant Athletic Director, Compliance and Student Services. Primary responsibilities include Assisting the Head Athletic Trainer in all phases of sports medicine for Menlo College intercollegiate athletic programs and student-athletes, and the supervision of the graduate and undergraduate student athletic training program.

 

Responsibilities:  

The following is intended to be a descriptive but not necessarily all-inclusive list of specific responsibilities.  

 

  • Complete daily taping and treatments as necessary for all athletes
  • Assist Head Athletic Trainer with administrative duties, including injury and insurance tracking
  • Establish and follow emergency procedures for care of student-athletes
  • Coordinate rehabilitation of injured athletes with head athletic trainer and team physician
  • Maintain current injury and treatment records
  • Assist with inventory and ordering of all necessary medical supplies
  • Assist with coordination of pre-participation physicals for student-athletes
  • Assist with drug testing program
  • Assist with COVID-19 testing and tracing program

 

Accountability:  

Accountable for assisting in the overall management of the Sports Medicine/Athletic Training program, including administrative duties and the care and prevention of injuries.  The Assistant Athletic Trainer will abide by all NAIA, athletic conference (GSAC), and Menlo College Athletics Department rules and regulations.  Failure to follow NAIA rules will result in my immediate dismissal from all duties.  

 

Job Requirements:  

  • First aid, CPR and AED certification
  • Current NATA certification
  • Valid and clean driver’s license
  • Available and able to travel with teams, which may include being a designated driver
  • Available to work nights and weekends
  • Schedule flexibility
