Works in coordination with the Vice President of Innovation & Instruction to provide quality educational services for Central Community College students. Plans, organizes, directs, controls, and evaluates all activities necessary to implement and maintain the nursing program for Central Community College. Provides leadership and direction to the nursing instructional program and represents the assigned program areas in activities that formulate college-wide policies related to instruction and student services. Will perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with college policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of curriculum development, learning theory, instructional techniques, and college technology. Knowledge of organizational development, human behavior, management, supervision, finance, critical thinking and problem-solving concepts normally acquired through completion of a master’s degree in Nursing and an unencumbered Nebraska RN license. An understanding of instructional techniques, the philosophy and mission of the college, class scheduling practices, and programs and purposes which is normally acquired through two to three years’ experience as an instructor and three to five years of progressively more responsible experience with delivery of instruction and instructional supervision in a nursing program at dean, associate dean, department chair, or program director level. A high level of analytical skills required to evaluate curriculum and instructional methodologies, prepare or review proposals for new programs, develop class schedules, review and make recommendations regarding requests for purchase of instructional equipment in order to assure optimal allocation of budget, determine appropriate faculty workload, review information necessary to serve as arbiter in student/staff conflicts. Advanced interpersonal skills to advise, counsel and resolve sensitive matters with students, faculty and staff. Plan, prepare and present information to college officials and public. Possesses a working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to develop and format written correspondence, spreadsheets, and presentations. Possesses a working knowledge of Outlook to correspond via e-mail, utilize attachments, and maintain a working calendar. Utilizes our software to develop, maintain, and analyze schedules, budgets, records, and faculty assignments and workloads.
