Job Summary

The Coordinator for Residential Student Conduct will assist in the overall management of the residential student conduct process within the Office of Housing and Residence Life (OHRL).

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Advises and assists in planning, coordinating, and reporting the activities of programs and operations administered by the university housing area, and assists in developing and implementing procedures for university housing’s administrative operations and programs.
  • Assists department administrators in resolving administrative and operational housing problems.
  • Establishes performance goals and measures to evaluate success of assigned area of responsibility.
  • Participates in recommending, interpreting, and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Recommends new and improved programs to effectively manage housing administrative operations.
  • Coordinates the day-to-day operations of assigned area. Provides guidance and direction to staff involved in department services, operations, and programs.
Other Duties:
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Creates, assigns, schedules and tracks housing conduct, care and concern cases to appropriate hearing officers/campus partners.
  • Potentially serves as a university hearing officer for violations of the Student Code of Conduct and Housing Community Standards.
  • Designs and facilitates training workshops for hearing officers and student staff members.
  • Stays current on trends and education in the Student Conduct and Residential Housing field in order to develop new and improved programming. Participates in state, regional, and national professional organizations, conferences and workshops.
  • Represents the Office of Housing and Residence Life on department and university committees, as well as community events as requested.
  • May supervise OPS, student workers and/or volunteers/staff during special events.
  • Advises the Residential Conduct Committee and serves as a Facilitator for Committee Hearings.
Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.
  • Two years of professional, full-time experience.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
  • Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications :
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, Counseling or related degree.
  • One year of full, professional experience in residence life or student affairs.
  • Experience responding to and managing emergencies and other incidents that may occur in the residential environment.
  • Experience with Maxient, Mercury, Workday and Banner.
  • Experience with assessment and running analytics.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
  • Knowledge of student intellectual, emotional and social development theory, techniques and research associated with ensuring the success of diverse student populations in residence hall living.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects within deadlines.
  • Ability to diffuse and respond professionally to stressful situations and difficult people.
  • Ability to work successfully as both a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with a diverse group of staff, faculty, students, and the community in a service-oriented environment.
  • Ability to implement new systems and procedures and to evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively, have a high standard of integrity, and be motivated to incorporate best practices into the organizational structure.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and environments.
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures consistently.

Salary Range: $47,200
