Job Summary

The Coordinator, Student Conduct is a member of the Dean of Students' Office. This position coordinates the functions and administrative processes of the student conduct program, ensuring compliance with policies and standards set forth in the Student Code of Conduct.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

• S erves as a member of the Dean of Students' Office as a formal and informal administrative hearing officer in non-academic conduct cases.

• Investigates, evaluates, and adjudicates complaints and allegations of violations of the student conduct code. Prepares charge letters and hearing outcome letters. Tracks compliance with sanctions.

• Creates, assigns, schedules, and provides follow-up to student conduct cases, ensuring appropriate resolutions from hearing officers and/or campus partners.

• Assists with development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of the student conduct program.

• Serves as a resource on university conduct matters for students, faculty, staff, and the community. Provides support, training, and coordination for members of the Dean of Students Conduct Team.

• Participates and provides input in the regular review of the student conduct handbook, policies applying to campus activities, organizations and students, and other policy/procedure related materials.

• Conducts development programs and training sessions regarding the rules of conduct and topics related to student discipline and academic integrity.

• Assists with outreach, training and educational workshops to all campus constituency groups regarding policies, procedures, ethics, and best practices in student conduct and support.

• Provides input in the development of departmental goals, strategies, operations and procedures.

• Serves as the lead facilitator to the Student Conduct Committee. Designs and facilitates training and workshops for hearing officers and student staff members.

• Keeps abreast of University, departmental, federal and state regulations related to the position. Exercises authority to implement changes and makes exceptions to students’ records.

• Stays current on trends, education, and professional best practices in order to develop new and improved programming.

Other Duties:
  • Participates in state, regional, and/or national professional organizations, conferences, and workshops.
  • Assists with the hiring, training, and mentoring of support staff.
  • Processes various documentation such as UPD reports, Admissions Clearance documents, and Academic Integrity and Faculty Hearing documents.
  • Follows up, resolves, and sends all complete and incomplete sanction information to students.
  • Tracks all student and faculty service hours and notify students and faculty of their service hours at the end of each semester.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.

Two years of professional full-time experience.

Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree from an accredited institution in guidance, education, student personnel, human services, or a related field.

Work experience in a higher education setting.

Experience with Workday.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to the position.

Knowledge of student development theory, techniques and research.

Knowledge of the fundamental aspects of college student intellectual, emotional, and social development.

Knowledge of the fundamental indicators of student mental health concerns, substance abuse, and domestic violence.

Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.

Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment.

Advanced verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to thrive in an organization that values the diversity of its student body and workforce and actively promotes equity and inclusion.

Ability to understand, interpret, apply, and explain policies and procedures.

Ability to manage and coordinate assignments to meet deadlines.

Salary Range : $47,200 to negotiable.
