Job Description:

APPOINTMENT: Full-time, tenure track position beginning August 2022 or until filled

RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate teaching in traditional and distance learning formats. A minimum teaching load of 3/3 is required. Primary teaching needs are at the Quad-Cities campus in the area of tax. Applicants will also assist in the School's VITA service to the QC and surrounding community.

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctoral degree in Accounting, DBA with a concentration in Accounting, or a Juris Doctorate with either a Masters in Taxation or a Masters of Accountancy, from an institution accredited by the AACSB at the date of degree conferral. Applicants with a Masters in Taxation will also be considered but only applicants with a Doctoral degree (or DBA/JD) will be considered for a tenure-track appointment. Applicants must have excellent communication skills, a demonstrated commitment to excellent teaching, research and service and maintain scholarly academic standing under our AACSB criteria at all times.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Professional certification and university-level teaching experience, preferably in taxation. Other accounting areas will be considered for supplemental teaching assignments. Previous experience with VITA initiatives and other hands on learning activities is desired. Ideal candidates would also have experience with technology-driven course delivery, including video conferencing and online delivery methods.

For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be "in hand" at the time of appointment.
