A.T. Still University's School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA) invites applications for an exempt Medical Education Accreditation Assessment & Integration Program Manager on the Mesa, Arizona campus. This position reports to the Chairperson, Department of Medical Education Accreditation Assessment & Integration. The Medical Education Accreditation Assessment & Integration Program Manager carries out policies and procedures to support and coordinate compliance with accreditation standards in the planning, assessment, and day-to-day operations of the Department of Medical Education Accreditation Assessment & Integration (DME).

Major Job Duties:

1. Promote and preserve the mission of ATSU-SOMA.

2. Demonstrate knowledge and provide oversight for the delivery of the academic programs as needed for years 1-4.

3. Supervise DME support staff in the design, organization, management, and assessment of curriculum for years 1 & 2.

4. Work under the supervision of the DME to collaborate with the CED department staff in the design, organization, management, and assessment of curriculum for years 3 & 4.

5. Gather, organize, secure and report curriculum/course data and pertinent records.

6. Assist with the archival, organization, and analysis of longitudinal data.

7. Innovate, co-design, co-maintain, and oversee staff in the architecture of digital resources and distance learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Zoom, Microsoft Office 365 database, ExamSoft, Evalue, Progress IQ, etc.).

8. Effectively communicate and interact with students, staff, faculty, and leadership in all matters related to the program needs of SOMA.

9. Participate in designated Institutional activities.

10. Serve as the recorder for DME and curriculum-related meetings.

11. Assist with other duties and functions as needed/assigned by the Chair of Medical Education Accreditation Assessment & Integration and/or designee for efficient and effective daily operations.

12. Collaboratively work with the ATSU-SOMA Leadership to support the DME’s role in the ATSU-SOMA Strategic Plan 2021-2028 Agile Resource Management Theme to “manage continual growth by developing an adaptable system of resource management”

13. Maintain FERPA/confidentiality/security concerning student information/grades in accordance with applicable law and Institutional Policy and Procedure.

14. Act as a departmental representative with students, staff, faculty, leadership, and visitors in a professional, friendly manner.

Skills/Requirements:
  • Masters required, higher (PhD, EdD, etc.) preferred (health sciences; and technology).
  • Knowledge of:
    • Supervisory principles;
    • Curriculum theory and development principles;
    • Medical education principles and practices;
    • Applicable processes associated with medical education curriculum;
    • Technology tools for large database management;
    • Effective communication;
    • Health sciences
  • Three to five years' experience in higher education and accreditation, preferably medical education and a hybrid education model that includes distance and classroom learning.
  • Proficiency with software and databases; Microsoft Office Specialist preferred.

  • Supervising staff;
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring policies, procedures, and workflow;
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency with digital resources and learning management platforms (e.g., Canvas, Zoom, Microsoft Office 365, etc.);
  • Microsoft Office Specialist Certification highly preferred
  • Preparing a variety of reports related to curriculum activities, including statistical analysis,
  • Accurate data entry skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Maintaining an established work schedule;
  • Ability to be self-reliant and follow instructions;
  • Possessing excellent grammar, writing, and proofreading skills;
  • Using various office equipment (e.g. copier, fax, scanner, etc.);
  • Sound decision-making capabilities and the ability to work independently and as directed by the Director of Medical
  • Education Data & Analytics, Assistant Dean for Medical Education Effectiveness and Assessment, Associate/Assistant Deans of Curriculum Integration, and/or designee;
  • Expertise in keyboarding/composing, editing and submitting surveys, reports, letters, memos, etc.
  • Capable of assuming responsibility; initiating appropriate action; and maintaining confidentiality;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires multitasking;
  • Effectively use interpersonal and professional communications skills;
  • Effectively use organizational and planning skills, including, but not limited to, attention to detail and follow-through;
  • Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and demands;
  • Maintaining confidentiality of work-related data, information, and materials;
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships;
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence;
  • Working cooperatively and collegially with others, consistent with a workplace of respect and EEO rules and regulations;
  • Devoting full attention and energy to the important work of ATSU-SOMA in a timely fashion; and
  • Ability to be flexible to accept other duties needed/assigned for the Institution’s needs.

  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changed priorities and effectively handle frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and/or independently. Effective use of diplomacy, tact, and judgment.
