Job Summary

Drexel University’s Kline School of Law is seeking an Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications to join its award-winning creative team in producing recruitment material for the entire admissions cycle, institutional announcements, peer-to-peer communications, social media and more. The ideal candidate for this position is a versatile writer and detail-oriented editor who’s just as comfortable writing copy for admissions email campaigns and brochures as they are communicating the impact of faculty research and advocacy. They must be adept at story sourcing, interviewing and coordinating with Kline Law administration, faculty, students and other collaborators on marketing and communications projects. The position is hybrid and reports to Kline Law’s Director of Communications and Digital Strategy.

Essential Functions
  • Write articles, announcements, Q&As, website copy, recruitment emails, social media posts and other assignments.
  • Assist with project management.
  • Source stories through outreach to faculty, administration, students and alumni and others.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience
Other requirements
  • Must provide at least three writing samples of published work, including one long-form feature article.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Outstanding writing, editing and proofreading skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with senior administrators, faculty and students on a variety of projects.
  • The position requires a proactive individual who collaborates well and has a track record of working independently, managing and prioritizing concurrent projects.
  • Should have experience with or interest in using marketing and communications tools such as Office 365, Adobe Creative Suite and GatherContent .
