Job Summary
As a member of the Libraries’ Online Resources and Acquisitions (ORA) team, the Specialist facilitates support for access to and availability of the Libraries’ selected online resources. Working with staff across the Libraries’ matrixed programs, the Specialist expedites resolution of issues through troubleshooting, documentation, and communication with vendors, clients, and technical staff. ORA program responsibilities also include ordering and processing of both online and physical resources. The Specialist will execute standard workflows to acquire and manage access to online monographs, as well as to acquire physical information resources.
Essential Functions
- Expedite resolution of issues with client access to online resources
- Ensure quality of online resource access points and resource provider connection data managed in discovery tools, link resolvers, A to Z lists and other technology
- Oversee accurate and complete ordering of online monographs (e.g., books, engineering standards, audiovisual media)
- Oversee ordering and receiving (and claiming if applicable) of print and audiovisual materials, and other physical resources
- Oversee regular online resource maintenance work, including proactively confirming accuracy of publicly accessible URLs and serial coverage metadata
- Activate select titles within large packages/collections of online resources, such as evidence-based acquisitions (EBA) eBook collections
- Oversee assigned staff and student workers; collaborate with matrixed staff who perform functions supporting online resources and acquisitions
Associate’s Degree or 2 years equivalent experience

- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365

- Experience using technology for acquisitions functions and managing online resources such as: Ex Libris Alma library services platform, Rialto, OCLC WorldShare Collection Manager, EBSCONET, OpenAthens
- Experience working with metadata
- Experience working with print serials
- Supervisory experience
- Typically sitting at a desk/table/standing/walking
- Lifting less than or equal to 25lbs
