Job Summary

The Drexel Implant Research Core under Dr. Steven Kurtz is seeking a Postdoctoral fellow to work on research regarding orthopaedic and point-of-care additive manufacturing. The work will involve developing methods for incorporating additively manufactured porous structures into implantable medical devices, characterization of materials relevant to orthopaedic applications, and grant writing related to these topics.

Essential Functions
  • Lead projects relating to 3D printed porous and nonporous high temperature polymers for osseointegration
  • Conducting data analyses
  • Analyze and disseminate data to project sponsors and the scientific community through manuscripts and conference abstracts
  • Participate in and support multiple team projects
  • Work with and train graduate and undergraduate students
Required Qualifications
  • PhD or Doctorate, Biomedical Engineering of related field
  • 2 years experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with 3D printing of high temperature polymers including polyetheretherketone (PEEK)
  • Experience with 3D printing of porous structures
  • Experience with computational languages such as MATLAB
  • Experience with material property characterization
  • Excellent organizational skills
