Job Summary
Permanent Scholar-in-Residence position focusing research on emerging markets in developing countries- to work in support of curricular and research initiatives concerning markets, ethics and social responsibility and their fundamental impact on business and society in developing economies, and to continue on on-going research projects. We are primarily looking for a person who has training in the business discipline and is also focused on performing research on market development and entrepreneurship in emerging and developing economies. We expect an active research program targeted at high-quality peer-reviewed journals as well as practitioner targeted white papers.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- The primary responsibilities for the position(s) include curriculum development, supporting related research initiatives, and teaching introductory and elective classes (undergraduate and master’s level). We are looking for someone who can develop programs, and also work as a role model for underrepresented students.
- The position also requires engagement with the Leeds Centers and divisions that collaborate in the creation and delivery of curricula pertaining to the topics above. The scholar will be rostered in and evaluated by the Social Responsibility and Sustainability Division in the Leeds School of Business.
- Formal teaching assignments can range from four to seven sections per year depending on other responsibilities. Additional contributions may include guest lectures and presentations connecting markets, entrepreneurship, ethics, and social responsibility.

The annual salary for this position is $105,060.

What We Require
- PhD in Marketing or closely related business field with focus on Scarcity and Property Rights; Fairness and Equality; Liberty and Externalities; Trade; Competition and Monopoly; Intellectual Property Rights; and/or Globalization, specifically related to international (non U.S.) markets and emerging economies.
- Previous 12 months of teaching experience at the post-secondary level in business-related fields.
- Documented development and presentation of research on market engagement of disadvantaged individuals within developing countries, non-traditional entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial contexts, social responsibility, and/or sustainability.
- Teaching experience or research may have occurred during graduate studies.
- Candidates’ training and research can come from a variety of business, social science, or legal disciplines but should fit within one or more of the focal topics of the initiative:
- Scarcity and Property Rights
- Fairness and Equality
- Liberty and Externalities
- Trade
- Competition and Monopoly
- Intellectual Property Rights
- Globalization
