THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN AKRON OHIO. EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTINUED FUNDING FROM THE GRANT PROVIDER.
The PTAC Procurement Specialist will deliver quality,
cost- effective and expeditious counseling to
OU PTAC clients related to obtaining government contracts
in specified counties in each service area. Qualified applicants
must demonstrate the ability to provide general counseling on
business development; ability to create professional relationships
with government program managers, contracting officers and prime
contractors; working knowledge of best business practices on
performing government contracts; and pragmatic knowledge of Federal
Acquisition Regulations as well as State of Ohio and local
procurement regulations and practices.
Duties include client counseling on government procurement related
topics; providing in-depth counseling; assessing a client’s
requirements and capabilities; providing in-depth counseling to
include program suitability, registrations, certifications,
research, marketing, proposal preparation, interpretation of
policies, preparing for audits, contract performance issues and
client referrals to appropriate resources; effectively operating
the assigned PTAC office; working closely with
the PTAC Director and/or network colleagues to facilitate
the smooth operation of the program; maintaining documentation of
client counseling and training events; retaining appropriate files
while preserving a functioning office space; fostering
the PTAC program growth through building relationships
externally with partnering organizations and key stakeholders; and
promoting the PTAC program through presentations and
training events.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in any
field AND at least three (3) years of procurement related
work experience. Candidates with no bachelor’s degree but with 5
years or more experience in a procurement related field or
with PTAC experience will also be considered.
Valid Driver’s license. Ability to travel, some evenings and
weekends may be required. Reliable home internet service in case of
need to work remotely.
