Northwestern University seeks candidates for a two-year visiting assistant professorship in Asian American Studies in, but not exclusive to, the disciplines of sociology, psychology, public health, religion, or other humanities and qualitative social sciences. Areas of specialization are open but scholars whose expertise builds connections with Arab American and Muslim American Studies, Pacific Islander American Studies, and Indigenous Studies are especially welcome. The successful candidate will be appointed in the Asian American Studies Program. Responsibilities include teaching six quarter-length courses (usually two per quarter), participating in program activities, and collaborating with Asian American Studies faculty and students. This is a benefits eligible, full-time appointment starting September 1, 2022. Ph.D. is required by the start of the appointment. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated experience working with diverse student communities.
