The Opportunity

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University - Worldwide announces an exciting opportunity in the Department of Administration and Business Operations and report to the Executive Director of Strategy, Innovation, and Effectiveness. The Senior Business Data Analyst is responsible for facilitating the strategic analysis that supports planning across the campus's academic and administrative areas. The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing assigned strategic business processes. The Senior Business Data Analyst will have a strong understanding of business intelligence and data modeling practices and will work with different university departments to help create a business strategy and roadmap to success.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the ongoing functional support to stakeholders, serving as the Worldwide Administrator for the DIGARC Section and Register systems.
  • Serve as the liaison between DIGARC Client Support and university IT.
  • Identify, create and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design at an advanced level.
  • Focus on quality improvement and data management; ensuring data is reliable and valid
  • Develop process improvements or re-engineering and recommending elimination.
  • Partner with internal and external business units to ensure alignment with the short and long-term goals of Worldwide and the university.
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by establishing relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Identify strategic business needs.
  • View and/or prepare system and process documentation and specifications in accordance with approved methodologies.
  • Synthesize and analyze information from various sources to identify trends, opportunities, and detractors.
  • Collect data through interviews, surveys, web search, database search, or other methods.
  • Monitor existing business reports to ensure continued alignment with the strategic needs of the Worldwide campus and the university.
  • Develop and maintain no-code/low-code software platforms to ensure each application meets the needs of stakeholders.
  • Develop business intelligence reporting to ensure key stakeholders are able to assess the overall health of the operation as well as identify potential detractors of strategic goal success.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Information Science, Applied Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, or Business Administration.
  • 3-5 years of work related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or Business Administration.
  • Microsoft Certified Data Analyst Associate
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • SQL experience, Oracle Database, Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI, Microsoft Azure, Python Programming advanced knowledge.
  • Understanding of Indices, fundamentals and analytics data, return level data etc.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point.
  • Experience working on large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business.
  • A strong understanding of business intelligence and data modeling best practices.
  • Experience working with business intelligence software from both administrative and development experience.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of users including ERAU Worldwide Leadership team.
  • Strong relationship building skills and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, administration, staff, and external constituents.
  • Ability to work independently, in a fast-paced environment and in teams.
