The Institute of Government at the University of Georgia is hiring for a Program Coordinator III position that will serve as an event and conference planner and coordinator who can manage the execution and reconciliation of all events and conferences that they are assigned. Applications will only be considered by applying through the UGA link listed below.

We are looking for someone who is skilled in meeting all contractual, administrative, financial, and logistical requirements for multiple, complex outreach and educational training programs.

The position delivers assigned programs to a range of state and local government agencies and public service professional associations. Assignments of programs and associations are based on conference scheduling, portfolio management, and association contracts that are renegotiated on an annual/bi-annual basis. This position’s client base is local and state officials who need required continuing education hours.

The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of conference planning and coordination of events for their assigned clients. They will collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and review contracts. They will also be involved in contract negotiation with client program leadership to reach an agreement. Job responsibilities include designing and developing the master event plan and implementation schedule for each program; program development; and evaluating and creating reports regarding a post-event assessment. This role will be responsible for event budget management and program account management and will be in charge of conference and event coordination and management.

This position also encompasses management of program accounts. They must manage and maintain program administrative and participant records and advise participants as required. They will establish and maintain effective client relationships by being the primary point of contact at the Carl Vinson Institute of Government for program clients.

We’re looking for a person who has superb organizational skills, the ability to attend to numerous details, excellent customer service, and proficiency in Excel and Word. The ideal candidate will be able to exercise independent judgment, problem solving abilities, and be able to work under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor with a variety of individuals of diverse personalities and backgrounds. 

Work format varies from sitting at a computer for long periods of time to driving long distances within the state of Georgia. Some lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, and stooping for long hours at conference registrations will occur.
