The Department of Diagnostic Imaging at Quinnipiac University invites applications for full-time 12-month tenure-track faculty position at the level of assistant professor with primary responsibilities within the Radiologic Sciences (RS) Program beginning in AY 2022-2023.

All faculty collaborate with the DI Department Chair and Program Directors to meet the educational needs of the Department. This full-time tenure track faculty position will have a designated scholarly agenda and service responsibilities relative to the strategic plan of the DI Department and aligned with individual interests. This positions offers leadership opportunity within the department and community.

The Department of Diagnostic Imaging is part of the School of Health Sciences. The Quinnipiac University School of Health Sciences offers a comprehensive spectrum of health science programs designed to address the evolving health needs of a diverse society. Building upon a solid foundation in the basic sciences and liberal arts and using innovative teaching and hands-on experience, the School of Health Sciences seeks to integrate theory, research, and leadership in their disciplines and in the global community. Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, implement, and monitor teaching strategies and course design to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of instruction in meeting departmental and RS Program accreditation requirements
  • Cultivate and maintain partnerships with community, clinical, academic, and relevant organizational entities to further scholarly agendas
  • Contribute to the ongoing quality improvement of the RS Program, Department of Diagnostic Imaging, and School of Health Sciences through program evaluation
  • Meet teaching, advising, service, and scholarship expectations as described in the Faculty Handbook

Education Qualifications: 

  • Applicants must hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree, masters preferred in a health professions discipline awarded by an institution that is accredited by a regional accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE)

Qualifications:

  • Experience in clinical practice as a radiologic technologist with experience working with and training radiologic sciences students
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role in an imaging department (i.e., lead technologist, assistant chief, chief technologist, supervisor, manager, etc)
  • Candidates must be licensed in the State of Connecticut as a Radiographer, registered in one or more modalities by the ARRT or ARDMS and have a minimum of 5 years of recent documented experience as a radiologic technologist
  • Evidence of teaching, scholarship, service and advising / mentoring students
  • Willingness to take on leadership role within the department
  • Commitment to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community
  • Commitment to community engagement and professional advocacy through teaching, service, and scholarship
  • Preferred qualifications include:

    • Current clinical practice in advanced modality
    • Experience with quality and safety, radiology informatics, or artificial intelligence.
    • For tenure-track appointment, evidence of scholarly agenda (e.g., scholarship of application, discovery, integration, or teaching) through peer-reviewed publication, presentations, or ongoing scholarly endeavors
