Senior Director of Medical Annual Giving

 

Keck School of Medicine of USC Advancement seeks to recruit a talented and experienced advancement professional for the position of Senior Director of Medical Annual Giving. The Senior Director will lead the Medical Annual Giving program for Keck School of Medicine of USC, Keck Medical Center, Verdugo Hills Hospital, and the Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. This position will work closely with the leadership of the departments and report to the Assistant Vice President for Health Sciences Advancement. This position will play a key role in meeting the goals for the Keck School of Medicine through direct fundraising. Performance measurement will be based on annual work plan metrics and fulfillment of development needs and priorities.

 

Essential job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan to build a robust base of annual giving donors and move donors up the giving pipeline.

• Develop and implement a leadership annual giving program in partnership with Keck Advancement Leadership Team.

• Understand and implement best practices in medical annual giving including leveraging the latest tools, technology, and behavioral science to develop a best-in-class program.

• Identify key fundraising priorities working with assigned leadership and colleagues to ensure strategies align with the Keck School of Medicine mission of research, education, patient care and community.

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with current and prospective donors, academic departments, staff, faculty, college institutes and centers, university partners and volunteers.

• Manage annual giving team, internal client relationships and vendor performance.

• Ensure the Medical Annual Giving Program complies with all HIPPA, FERPA, and USC privacy guidelines. 

• Work closely with AVP of Health Sciences Advancement to:

***Understand the funding needs of internal clients,

***Set attainable performance goals,

***Report on progress against goals and performance benchmarks, and

***Adjust strategy when needed.

 

Follow established USC and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan. Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.

 

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

 

The person holding this position needs to be an excellent verbal and written communicator, an entrepreneurial thinker and a problem solver. He/she must possess strong relationship management skills. Familiarity working with faculty, top executives and community leaders desired. Applicants should be accustomed to and comfortable with receiving and applying feedback and advice to improve performance. Additionally, applicants should be able to demonstrate a history of success in their prior field/position, with special focus on success in designing, implementing, and administering innovative programs that require creative solutions and energized problem-solving approaches within the fundraising arena
