The university is seeking an innovative thinker to serve as the Associate Director of Recruitment and Admission. As the climate surrounding higher education becomes more complex, the University of Dayton seeks to leverage the critical relationship with school counselors. A successful candidate will bring a creative approach to the ongoing relationship between student recruitment and the school and independent counselor audience. This position will report to the Director of Regional Recruitment and Admission and be based in Dayton, Ohio.

Professional responsibilities include implementing and overseeing the Recruitment &
Admission team’s development of strategic and proactive events with high school
counselors and internal and external partners. The Associate Director develops and
implements a framework for innovative programming to enhance outreach with Gen Z
and Gen Alpha students, families, school counselors, and internal and external
partners. This plan includes the creation of a strategy around various responses
throughout the recruitment cycle that will urge students and families to take their next step (apply, engage, confirm, enroll) and collaborate with team members and campus
partners to provide leadership around the Leadership in Service scholarship.
Additionally, this position will manage an assigned territory of the Northeast, with a
primary focus on NY, NJ, CT, and MA, through high school visits, individual
appointments with students, families, and school counselors, and territory-specific
programming to build a funnel of applicants, admits and matriculants. This position will
travel up to 5 weeks in the fall semester and up to 4 weeks in the spring.

Minimum Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience in college admission, financial aid,
or student services.
● Commitment to inclusivity and working with the university towards becoming an
anti-racist institution.
● The successful candidate must be self-motivated, can work independently, and
have excellent communication, public speaking, and relationship management
skills for diverse audiences.
● Valid driver's license with less than six points.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

● Master's degree in higher education administration/student affairs or related field.
● Knowledge and sensitivity to Catholic and Marianist principles of education and
values.
● Demonstrated experience working with families and students of diverse
backgrounds.
● Experience working with a student information system like Banner or a CRM such as Salesforce for recruitment and admission
tasks
● Ability to develop and educate recruitment and admission staff around best
practices to engage in support high school counselors
● Demonstrated relationship management skills and the ability to support the
common goal of excellence in program integrity and customer service

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.

The University will continue to monitor the state of the pandemic on campus and in the community as well as developments in federal and state requirements, and also will continue to regularly consult with public health officials and our medical panel.
