The Center for Faculty Development in the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Strategic Initiatives at Old Dominion University is seeking candidates for the Educational Program Developer (full-time, 12 month) position. The Educational Program Developer will assist the Director of the Center for Faculty Development with the planning, development, coordination, management, and assessment of various professional development activities and programs. To this end, the Educational Program Developer will: Research, develop, facilitate, and assess programs to assist faculty development and success; Manage course and curriculum development projects from inception to completion with advanced assessment of such projects; Identify and advocate for research-based based practices for teaching and learning; determine the strategies, services and support necessary for faculty to be effective teachers to enhance student success; Create and lead workshops for faculty on a wide variety of topics related to teaching and faculty success; Work collaboratively with various divisions within the university to promote faculty professional development with links to University strategic initiatives; Provide effective communication and marketing strategies for the Center for Faculty Development. 

Required Education: M.A. in Education, Communication, Psychology, Humanities, or related field.  

Required Qualifications: Considerable knowledge of higher-education learning environments. Considerable knowledge of the scholarship on teaching and learning (SoTL), pedagogy, assessment strategies, high-impact practices, problem-based learning, and faculty development. Basic knowledge of mentoring. Expertise in higher education pedagogy, high impact practices and instructional design. Expertise in project management, data collection, analysis, and curation. Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and publishing); attention to detail. Experience with audio-editing software and basic video editing. Excellent research and problem-solving and networking skills. Familiarity with tools for information access, collaboration, and instruction using current technologies. Proficient skill in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SWAY, Access, Outlook, and PhotoShop along with Google Drive, and ePortfolio), Adobe Acrobat Pro, After Effects and Final Cut X or other similar applications. A demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and be skilled in time management and handling multiple assignments. A demonstrated ability and commitment to diversity and inclusion. A demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of constituencies. A demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team. Considerable experience in related field in teaching, communication, or program development. Considerable experience in curriculum change, internationalization and/or instructional design project management. Considerable experience in the design, implementation, delivery and assessment of faculty development initiatives and programs. Basic/working experience working with faculty and in a university environment. 

Preferred Qualifications: Extensive knowledge of higher-education learning environments. Extensive experience in curriculum change, internationalization and/or instructional design project management. PhD in Education, Communication, Psychology, STEM, Humanities, or related field.
