POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Academic Intervention and Accommodation Services, the supervisor oversees the day-to-day administration of JJC’s testing services, which includes oversight of the college placement exam processes (currently Accuplacer and ALEKS), JJC student and District 525 community testing, as well as other testing services supporting academic assessment, enrollment processes, testing accommodations, and student development. Hires, trains, schedules, evaluates, and supports Testing Services staff at multiple locations. This position requires working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and designated departments at multiple campus locations to address the testing support needs of JJC students. Position also collaborates with external stakeholders including but not limited to testing companies, professional organizations, secondary and postsecondary partners, and local government and businesses. The administration of testing services reflects the complex and growing needs of JJC students, is consistent with the mission of the college, and addresses the intentional learning outcomes identified by the division of student development.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Professionally represent Joliet Junior College and uphold the College’s Core Values.
2. Coordinate and oversee testing services administered at Joliet Junior College; this includes providing leadership over the delivery of academic, certification, external, and virtual testing; managing these services at all campus and education center locations, as well as community college District 525 requests for off-campus testing at high school locations; and contributing to the strategic plans for ongoing and projected testing needs of the campus and students.
3. Supervise, schedule, and evaluate all full- and part-time staff assigned to the department in both physical and virtual environments. Ensure staff meet rigorous testing practices and procedures as set forth by the National College Testing Association, maintain current proctor certifications, and adhere to any relevant policies or procedures outlined in testing provider contractual agreements. Provide recommendations for hire to Director.
4. Support management of allocated budget and associated resources assigned to meet testing needs of JJC students and District 525 community members as appropriate. Contribute to budget planning by providing recommendations to Director to address immediate and long-term goals.
5. Effectively partner with Disability Services to establish streamlined processes which adhere to testing best practices, host regular communication, training, and meetings; and ensure ongoing constructive departmental collaboration to meet changing needs of JJC students, including but not limited to, providing accommodations in a consistent and timely manner, addressing student concerns, and offering current and appropriate assistive technology in a universally designed testing environment.
6. Continuously evaluate testing needs to determine whether services should be added or removed; through this evaluation process, consult with Information Technology (IT), Business and Auxiliary Services (BAS), and other collaborative partners to ensure IT security standards, as well as BAS internal and external contract guidelines, are considered during contract acquisition and renewal.
7. Collaborate with faculty and staff to explore new testing options and modalities (in-person, remote, or hybrid) on an ad hoc basis; this includes, but is not limited to, Adult Education, Workforce Services, Dual Credit, academic programs, student success, and enrollment management testing needs.
8. Effectively partner with external testing companies regarding test schedules and available seating, proctor changes and training requirements, technical problems, test site updates, incident reports, contractual changes, and other necessary communications to ensure test center compliance, staffing professional development, and contractual obligations.
9. Provide leadership on implementation, maintenance, communication, and completion of all placement/ alternate measures, academic, certification, and external tests within the department; oversee test score receipt, transmission, processing, and uploading into Student Information System; work collaboratively with Enrollment Management departments and IT to provide seamless intake experience for students; serve on College Readiness Committee’s Placement Subcommittee to provide insight on placement best practices/ initiatives.
10. Produce weekly, monthly, annual, and ad hoc reporting to highlight placement testing data, testing activity at all locations, stakeholder satisfaction with services, departmental accomplishments and concerns, and status updates of staff professional development activities.
11. Maximize the effectiveness and utilization of administrative systems to track testing traffic, trends, and support strategic initiatives; gather and distribute data generated by Testing Services to support strategic enrollment management initiatives and program improvement.
12. Effectively maintain and update JJC website and myJJC Portal as it pertains to testing services provided by the college; effectively market the Testing Services resources to JJC students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders; when called upon present information and produce publications/ newsletters providing timely information related to testing services and stakeholder engagement.
13. Host interactive monthly staff meetings, which include professional development regarding quality assurance of test delivery and best practices in the field of test administration and the National College Testing Association. Present to/ provide training for internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to enrollment events, Dual Credit partner outreach, and other JJC groups.
14. Contribute to the development and communication of annual and long-range goals; actively participate in Student Development priorities, college goals and objectives.
15. Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s Degree.
2. At least two years of supervisory experience
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
4. Technology skills include PC, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint), Student Information Systems, and Internet research.
5. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
6. Demonstrated commitment to the college’s core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Master’s Degree in education, leadership, business, or a related field.
2. More than two years of supervisory experience leading large and diverse teams at multiple locations.
3. Familiarity with testing tools and alternate placement measures that support college course placement, such as ACT, SAT, Accuplacer, and ALEKS.
4. Experience providing enrollment support in a college setting.
5. Experience with Workday, SARS, Navigate.
6. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
7. Demonstrated multicultural competence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

2. Ability to travel between campus locations and to community events.
3. Ability to travel in state and nationally.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Duties are performed indoors in the usual office and/or outdoor environment.
