Position Announcement

The Post Award Grant Coordinator will work with Principal Investigators/Project Directors to ensure all project and budgetary requirements are adhered based on sponsor funding regulations and ensure compliance. This position reports to the Director of Sponsored Programs. Information about the University’s Sponsored Programs can be found online at .

  • Review terms and conditions of new awards for issues involving allowable costs, re-budgeting original award budget, and submitting necessary paperwork for approval.
  • Monitor financial conflicts of interest as they pertain to grants under University Policy 157 and work with Director of Sponsored Programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and university compliance.
  • Monitor faculty time and effort reporting and work with Director of Sponsored Programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and university compliance.
  • Ensure equipment justification and compatibility with sponsoring agencies' regulations and university policies and procedures.
  • Assist with award setup details to secure Banner Index Code.
  • Maintain ongoing updates and communications related to current grants and contracts progress and financial reporting to principal investigators and project directors.
  • Support all relevant post-award responsibilities, including monitoring budgets and expenses, travel, p-cards, purchase orders, account reconciliation, cost transfers, paying invoices, subawards, and contractual agreements.
  • Monitor voluntary and mandatory cost sharing.
  • Coordinates human resources actions as they apply to personnel paid on grants, including preparation of required HR forms for hiring and termination and monitoring payroll expenditures.
  • Inform Principal Investigator/Project Director on budget variances.
  • Complete risk assessments on subaward entities and monitor subaward contracts, extensions, and amendments.
  • Proactively ensure spending is compliant in accordance with institutional and sponsor regulations, terms, and conditions prior to transaction processing.
  • Assist and participate in award termination process to close-out accounts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required. A combination of post-secondary education and related higher education grant experience totaling at least four years will also be considered.
  • One year of administrative/budgeting experience with grants required; grant experience in higher education preferred.
  • General knowledge of accounting and budgeting theory and practices required.
  • Knowledge of Uniform Guidance regulations pertaining to grants.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access and, PowerPoint), or similar software applications.
Supplemental Information

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Full-time professional staff (overtime-eligible) position. Annual salary of $44,000 - $48,000, depending on qualifications & experience. Start date of July 1, 2022.
