About Our College: Situated in one of the world’s most beautiful regions – SUNY Plattsburgh’s main campus is on Lake Champlain between the Adirondack Mountains of New York and Green Mountains of Vermont. SUNY Plattsburgh is a vibrant, public, comprehensive college, and member of the State University of New York’s (SUNY) comprehensive system of higher education committed to student-centered academic excellence. While the college enrolls more than 5,200 students in 70+ baccalaureate, certificate, and master’s programs, an average class size of 22 students allows the individual attention necessary to ensure that its graduates are educated to succeed in an increasingly complex, multicultural and interdependent world.

About The Position: The Enrollment and Student Success division supports a student’s entire collegiate experience from the point of admission through to graduation. We partner with students, faculty and staff to provide a network of opportunities and services that lead to student success. Collectively, the division of Enrollment and Student Success positively influences the health, safety and well-being of the student body. The Center for Student Involvement works to offer opportunities and programs for all students to be engaged in campus life in a variety of ways. This position will work directly with our Student Association (SA) to help with planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating a range of programs and services for the benefit of the student body. Responsibilities are expected to include providing direction and leadership in budget development, expenditure protocols, and finance policy enforcement; guiding the creation of new documents and assuring compliance with campus policies; and challenging and supporting student leaders in the execution of their roles and enforcing the guidelines of their governing bylaws and policies. The ideal candidate will be able to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with a variety of campus stakeholders, including effectively serving as the primary point of contact between the Student Association and their fiscal agent, College Auxiliary Services (CAS). The review of all club and organization contracts with outside vendors to mitigate risks, working as an advisor in a variety of capacities to student groups, as well as assisting with election processes and leadership training is also expected. As an institution that delivers challenging and high-quality experiences to a diverse group of learners, the successful candidate must demonstrate an understanding of, and sensitivity to, diversity, inclusion, and equity-minded policies, programs, and practices.

SUNY College at Plattsburgh is a fully compliant employer committed to excellence through diversity.
