Duties:

The UWF College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) Department of Social Work seeks a dynamic professional to join its cadre of faculty as an Assistant Professor, starting in January 2023. The department offers both an MSW that focuses on clinical practice in behavioral and health care settings and a generalist BSW degree, and it is expected that the chosen candidate will be able to teach across the BSW and MSW curriculum with a primary emphasis in graduate courses. Position duties include teaching the equivalent of three courses per semester, engaging in scholarly activities leading to publishing impactful research, and active engagement in curriculum development and department activities. The faculty member is expected to work with municipal and regional service organizations, and provide meaningful service to the department, college, and the profession.

The University of West Florida is a public regional comprehensive university in the Florida University System located in Pensacola, Florida. The department successfully completed the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) reaffirmation process for the BSW and MSW programs in 2017 and both programs were reaffirmed for eight years, ending in February of 2025. The Social Work program has been serving students since the early 1970s and currently has an enrollment of 203 MSW students, 153 BSW students, and 144 undergraduate students who have declared a social work minor. While most students are on the main campus (Pensacola), the program also offers a fully online MSW degree and courses in other locations throughout Northwest Florida.
