Job Description

Housed in the Department of Agricultural, Leadership, and Community Education, the AgrAbility Virginia Program Coordinator will have the primary responsibility of assisting the Program Director and AgrAbility Partnership (VT, VSU, and Easterseals) in all educational, outreach, communication, managerial, and program evaluation responsibilities related to this statewide Virginia Cooperative Extension program. The coordinator will also be responsible for conducting and monitoring site-assessments on farm, making referrals to needed services, farm safety and wellness trainings and workshops, tracking of farmer-outcomes, dissemination of AgrAbility materials, and promoting AgrAbility at agricultural workshops and community events. The Coordinator will especially support the AgrAbility Virginia team with outcome assessment and program evaluation plans by implementing continuous evaluation plans and reports. The Coordinator will also be responsible for the co-development of educational and training materials and peer-reviewed publications. Also will be expected to participate in related programming with the VT Center for Food Systems and Community Transformation.

Required Qualifications

• MS degree in an agricultural science related field
• Experience in community education with farmer stakeholders
• Familiar with issues pertaining health, wellness, and accessibility in agriculture
• Excellent critical thinking, writing, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Outcome assessment and program evaluation experience
• Experience working with historically underserved and vulnerable farming communities
• Spanish language proficiency
