Purpose of Position
This position will oversee all registered student organizations and university wide programming initiatives.

This position will
  • Manage MyEngagement (Presence) platform for the 200 plus registered student organizations in the 9 areas of engagement.
  • Manage the Victor E. Coins rewards program for students.
  • Advise the Activities Programming Board.
  • Chair NKU Homecoming.
  • Advise the Inter-Faith Council and support their needs.
  • Provide training for all registered student organization advisors.
  • This is an in-person position and will require many evening and weekends.
  • Supervise and evaluate the Coordinator of Leadership and Programming
Primary Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development and management of the on-line registration process and training for 200 plus registered student organization and the use of the database management software all registered student organizations (Presence). Develop and keep office policies and procedures up to date for registered student organizations. This position will create, edit and maintain publications for student organizations including student organization handbook, brochures, center mailings and Center for Student Engagement website. This position will also maintain the student listserv and oversee the weekly Leader’s Link e-newsletter.
  • Advise the Activities Programming Board with a budget of approximately $100,000. Help the executive board plan and execute quality programming throughout the academic year. This will involve contract initiation and negotiations. Supervise student employees and the executive board of the Activities Programming Board.
  • Assists with the coordination and maintaining the DOSA master calendar in concert with the registered student organizations. This will include ensuring that all of the programs are on the Presence calendar and that students receive Victor E. Coins (involvement incentive points) at all events. This position will also secure the rewards and distribution of the Victor E. Coins program.
  • Assist with the University traditions of Freshfusion, Victorfest, Winterfest and Homecoming.
  • Develop on-going student organization advisor training and recognition.
  • Plan, coordinate with, and assist departments, groups and individuals with events that stimulate or encourage campus engagement and student involvement (1 -Day Registration Days and Orientation Rallies, Freshfusion, Student Organization Rallies, Fall Fest) etc.
Qualifications
  • Masters degree and 3 years of experience.
  • Must have a willingness to make decisions, must exhibit sound and accurate judgement. Strong mentoring and coaching skills and an ability to foster teamwork.
  • Must be able to prepare and present special projects with little or no supervision or oversight.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must have effective interpersonal communication skills and the ability to communicate professionally both orally and in writing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products as well as social media platforms. Experience with student organization management platforms to promote service events and track individual student’s service hours.
  • Displays an ability to learn rapidly and adapt quickly to changing situations.
  • Ability to work with events involving multiple parties and ability to deal with frequent change
