Job Summary
Instructs and advises academic and administrative employees on
methods and procedures in the usage and purchase of multimedia
equipment, software and other related items.
Duties & Responsibilities
•Ensures the operational integrity and performance of all equipment
and software used in support of instruction and special events on a
Campus
•Coordinates and optimizes the Campus’ educational support services
and special events/programs
•Supervises and schedules a team of technicians supporting academic
services at the College; including but not limited to, keeping
multimedia classrooms in working order and managing video
distribution systems
•Oversees and leads technical teams supporting major events
•Manages one or more operations within the department; such as,
collection development, serials, sound set ups, basic Video
Conferencing
•Performs minor maintenance on hardware and troubleshoots problems
with hardware and software
•Performs installation of new software application programs for the
department
•Performs standard equipment set-ups; to include but not limited
to, computers, data projectors, document cameras, and multimedia
carts
•Troubleshoots multimedia delivery systems and provides basic
support in an academic setting
Minimum Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field plus five (5)
years related work experience; or an Associate’s degree in a
technical or related field plus nine (9) years related work
experience
•At least one (1) year of experience in a supervisory
capacity
•Knowledge on all aspects of circulation through use of media and
help desks
•Knowledge of desktop publishing methods, procedures, and
requirements
•Knowledge of programming languages, current operating systems, and
relevant software applications
•Working knowledge of computer applications, instructional media
and graphic design programs and relevant authoring and programming
languages
•Ability to lead a team performing technical work and coordinate
day-to-day activities
•Ability to evaluate and edit the content, structure, and format of
a range of written material
•Ability to utilize professional audiovisual facilities and
equipment
•Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing,
prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
