Job Description:

The Department of English at Clark University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of U.S. multiethnic literature with a specialization in Asian American literature and culture. We are open to applicants with expertise in a variety of geographic foci, critical approaches, and theoretical lenses that address Asian American, Pacific Islander, and Transpacific literary and cultural productions. We welcome candidates who can teach advanced seminars in Asian American literature and critical ethnic theory as well as core requirements in the English Major such as surveys of U.S. multi-ethnic literature and genre courses (such as drama, poetry, or fiction). Course load to include at least one (but no more than two) gen ed lit/comp course per year. The position begins in Fall 2022 with a 2/3 teaching load along with some undergraduate and graduate advising duties in consultation with chair (such as possible major/minor advising and serving as a reader - and eventually potentially advisor - on thesis projects). PhDs preferred but ABDs will be considered, both with at least one year of teaching experience. The position is renewable up to three years.
