Director, Business Strategy and Development



Summary

The Director, Business Strategy and Development with the Department of Surgery will develop business strategies and create, manage and oversee the development and dissemination of content across a variety of platforms. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional who is a self starter who can independently identify and execute new growth opportunities and advance awareness and recognition of the department among health systems and AMC competitors.

Job Duties
  • Supervise marketing and communication four (4) staff resources, including the principal lead for digital media; responsible for daily assignments, project management, and human resource activities for the staff
  • Develop, implement and provide oversight of business and development strategies for all mission area, including marketing and outreach tactics; assist with develop annual marketing budgets and assignment of financial and human resources
  • Lead the communications team to develop communication materials and strategies consistent with the department mission
  • Work closely with the internal and external marketing and communications teams to implement SEO best practices
  • Monitor, redirect, click and bounce rates and other key performance indicators
  • Prepare and present reports regularly to department leadership and key stakeholders
  • Monitor the ROI related to marketing investments
  • Provide leadership, oversight, and guidance to approved ventures, ensure timeline, resources, and budget goals are met
  • Lead and coordinates the department Communications Committee
  • Identify areas the effective and constructive integration of strategies across the mission areas, and all applicable development activities, including multi-mission growth plans
  • Develop, manage and monitor the campaigns, identify performance shortfalls and help develop strategies and solutions for addressing
  • Create budgets, facilitate events related to continuing medical education seminars and conferences
  • Partner with central business development teams to execute on approved ventures and programs that align with growth strategies
  • Independently create materials (PowerPoint Slides, project documents, business plans, etc.) to support the department Vice-Chairs and Division Chiefs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subject matter experts from the BCM central resources, regional health system networks and mission areas
  • Establish performance indicators and apply them to ensure the successful execution of growth strategies
  • Partner with the Vice Chair of Outreach and Inclusion to execute on aims related to improving the department’s diversity and inclusion (metrics)
  • Serve as the staff council lead for the department, including championing initiatives and ideas from the council members
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Eleven years of directly related experience with four years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree. Seven years of directly related experience with four years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to effectively and professionally interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Excel and Word skills. Advanced PowerPoint skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Project management skills.
