Position Description

The Interdisciplinary Humanities and Communication faculty in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts on the Polytechnic campus of Arizona State University invite applications to establish a pool for Communication Faculty Associates for the 2022-2023 academic year. The successful candidate(s) will teach undergraduate courses in Communication; prepare class materials; evaluate student work; and hold office hours to assist students. Faculty Associate positions are one semester, non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed an average of .40 FTE per semester. The number of courses is contingent upon unit needs, funding and sufficient enrollment. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Communication or related field at time of appointment
  • A minimum of two years post-secondary experience teaching Communication courses either in-person and/or online.
  • Ability to teach in digital environments such as Canvas (asynchronously and/or synchronously)
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree in Communication or related field at time of appointment
  • Experience designing undergraduate Communication courses
  • Evidence of effective teaching
  • One year of full-time teaching experience in post-secondary environment
  • Experience teaching in a digital environment such as Canvas (asynchronously and/or synchronously)
  • Demonstrated success meeting the needs of underrepresented students and/or diverse communities
