Position Overview:

Planning the day-to-day operations of the University of Central Oklahoma’s (UCO) recruitment, onboarding, and development efforts. Fosters a culture of high collaboration and feedback. Create/oversee and/or deliver quality custom programs and resources. Works with leaders across UCO who are looking to attract, grow, and retain the talent that will best support the diverse needs of our student body.

Hybrid remote work is available after a 90-day onboarding. Hybrid work and flex options are contingent upon strong performance, attendance, and conduct. The general schedule for this position is 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Departmental Essential Duties:
  • Determines and appropriately responds to staff and student employee training and leadership needs, partnering with faculty development resources as requested or appropriate.
  • Partners with key stakeholders to manage the university’s learning management system and UCO’s required annual trainings.
  • Oversees programming such as Leadership UCO, New Employee Orientation, and the Management Development Program.
  • Supports UCO leadership’s ad hoc requests for training and teambuilding/retreat facilitation.
  • Manage the employer value proposition for the UCO.
  • Partner with hiring managers across campus in their efforts to recruit and hire a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent ready to serve our community.
  • Sustain, evaluate, and improve individual, professional, and vendor relationships that support the efforts of talent acquisition and/or development.
  • Lead staff in alignment with UCO HR’s values of integrity, reliability, and innovation.
  • In partnership with others throughout Talent Management and other HR areas, works on projects to improve on-boarding, retention, equity, inclusion and engagement across campus.
  • Completes ad-hoc projects at the discretion of the Director of Employee Relations and Talent Acquisition + Development.
College/Department Overview:

The talent acquisition & development manager works inside of the Talent Management Department, which is part of the larger Human Resources department. Talent Management is comprised of five unique functions that work together under the Assistant Vice President of Talent Management to empower UCO faculty, staff and student employees to bring their best selves to work every day.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience that provides extensive knowledge of fundamental theories, principles, and concepts plus 5+ years of relevant work experience in HR, Recruitment, Training/Development, Business, or related field.

A Master’s degree or current professional certification may be considered towards relevant work experience. Qualifications/Experience Preferred:

Experience with Paycom. Experience with SkillPort or a similar LMS. SPHR or equivalent certification.
Strong grammar, communication and presentation skills are necessary.

Integrity - Job requires a high level of respect, ethical decision making, confidentiality and honesty. This position includes the management of a University credit card and impact to our Talent Management budget. Excellence in the stewarding of these university funds is non-negotiable.

Reliability - Job requires strong sense of follow through with care and excellence. Ability to keep a positive attitude during stressful situations and keep up with multiple projects.
