Johnson Program Coordinator



Job Description:

The Program Coordinator works with the Program Director on a variety of tasks to support the Johnson Program in Leadership and Integrity. The Program Coordinator manages communications, budgets, data and reporting; plans events; works with scholars and faculty; coordinates student summer opportunities and the granting processes; and serves as liaison to on and off campus partners.

Essential Functions:
  • Plan, organize, implement events. Organize co-curricular programming, student and alumni events, consultant visits, and committee meetings. Manage the schedule/calendar for the program and the director.

  • Organize and work with other campus offices to produce website content, newsletters, program materials and documents. Communicate with current and former students, and program faculty.

  • Manage and track data for the program. Work with the director on reporting for the external evaluator, planning yearly visits and proving requested data, and organizing material for donor relations. Work with other campus offices on data collection, trends and reporting.

  • Oversee administrative functions for the director, including calendar and budgeting. Work with multiple program accounts and distributions. Manage confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.

  • Experiential opportunities coordination. Nurture relationships with students. Assumes proactive role in developing student projects from concept to dissemination. Manages database and organizes the application process including advertising, coordinating review of applications, fund distribution and reporting.

  • Liaison to other campus offices. Works closely and communicates with other campus offices including admissions and financial aid, business office, communications, alumni and donor relations.

  • Provides administrative support for the campus leadership of the Alpha Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa – including communications, budgets and event planning.

Work Schedule: M-F, 8:30am - 4:30pm.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma plus three years of administrative support experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable skills are acquired. Associate’s or Bachelor's degree preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently, problem solve and think creatively. Talent for successful event planning and ability to multitask. Interest in mentoring students and working on their experiential opportunities. Must have proven ability for data collection and analysis. Confident computer skills including essential productivity software (e.g. MS office) and other university operations software.

Physical Requirements:
  • Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.

  • Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Working Conditions: The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Types of Work: Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Minimum Pay:

$18.84 - Pay Commensurate with Experience
