Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Systems and Integration Services, the Programmer Analyst is dedicated to creating and delivering solutions to meet the demands and requirements of the campus community. This position will also be responsible for creating integration packages between Workday and other enterprise systems, and creating stand-alone custom solutions when required. Working with a team of professionals in supporting functions including database architecture, business analysts, data and reporting architects, and a broader array of talent within ITS, this position provides highly technical in-house programming expertise and consulting for the campus community.

This position has an essential role in supporting processes with efficient, high-tech, secure, and modern full-stack solutions. Consulting and collaborating with administrative departments, faculty, staff, and students is required to effectively design, develop, test, deploy, and support custom web applications in support of the academic and business units of the University. This position offers a regional remote work option. The Programmer Analyst will be required to visit campus regularly.

Essential Functions:
  • Conceptualize customer needs for impact to data collection, manipulation, and views, with a special focus on the Workday platform.

  • Design workflows to solve business and technical problems

  • Investigate and recommend data architecture design for secure development and hosting of web and utility applications

  • Design, create, test, deploy, and maintain custom, full-stack web applications

  • Utilize modern technology and programming tools/techniques to achieve successful, secure, and highly functional web applications

  • Leverage vendor provided APIs for integration applications

  • Analyze, design, develop, and implement RESTful services and APIs

  • Contribute to and maintain code deployment methodologies and repositories

  • Ensure documentation is current and accessible

  • Stay abreast of the latest technologies to best support the community

  • Follow the ITS Information Security Program and industry standard best practices to help ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all IT resources

  • Additional related duties as assigned

Work Schedule: M-F, 8:30am - 4:30pm

Salary: Pay commensurate with experience

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and three years related experience, or combination in which the equivalent education and experience is achieved. Experience with analysis, design, development, testing, implementation of integration solutions using cloud integration/ETL tools and technologies. Ability to comprehend business functionality and translate to technical requirements. Strong functional knowledge of core ERP business terminology, processes, practices, technology, and architecture. Experience with RESTful services and APIs.

Ability to recommend and implement solutions in accordance with industry best practices. Must mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards. Excellent time management, organization, and planning skills, and the ability to manage multiple assigned tasks/projects with minimal supervision are required. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, ability to work with diverse teams across all levels. Knowledge of Workday, Workday Extend, and Workday Prism preferred but not required. Knowledge of .NET and C# programming strongly preferred, but can be substituted with similar programming knowledge and experience. Fluency in many technologies preferred including but not limited to: HTML5/CSS, .NET, C#, MS SQL, XSLT, XML, JSON, JavaScript, Python, PHP.

Physical Requirements:
  • Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.

Working Conditions: The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Types of Work: Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
