Job Description

Health and Behavioral Risk Research Center (HBRRC) staff conduct health-related studies using a computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) system and operating on day, evening and weekend shifts throughout the year.
Responsibilities of shift supervisors (full- and part-time) include:
• Coaching, monitoring and supervising 40+ telephone interviewers
• Ensuring that all interviewers comply with standard data collection policies and procedures
• Advising interviewers on how to correctly code responses given by adult (18 years of age or older) interviewees
• Conducting random monitoring of live interviews to ensure that every interviewer follows study policies and procedures, including informing interviewers of monitoring results and coaching on how to improve performance
• Preparing various Excel reports (attendance, performance, monitoring results) needed by HBRRC management for assessing progress; monitoring quality and productivity; and ensuring that project goals are on track and costs are within budget
• Training new interviewers on how to conduct unbiased health-related interviews following standard protocols
• Maintaining effective communication with interviewers and other HBRRC staff
The successful candidate will be a multi-tasker with great people and communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can handle a flexible schedule. Good organizational and time management skills are required and attention to detail is a must. The person who occupies this position must be able to function effectively within a team, but she/he/they must also be able to take initiative and work well independently. To give better guidance to phone interviewers, this person will be expected to conduct one or more CATI interviews on a weekly basis.

Salary

Salary Range: $17.00 - $18.00/hour

Grade: GGS-006

Shift

HBRRC operates 7 days a week; evening and weekend shifts, each a minimum of 4 hours, are required .

Part-time

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary .

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, is needed.
Good interpersonal communication skills are required.
Scheduling flexibility is needed. At a minimum, HBRRC remains open until 9 pm on weekdays, 6 pm on Saturdays and 8 pm on Sundays; projects for agencies located in other time zones may necessitate the center staying open later than 9 pm.
Previous supervisory experience is preferred as is experience using a CATI system as an interviewer or supervisor.
An Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired, is recommended.
