Job Summary:

The Department of English at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks two poets for tenure-track or tenured positions at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor levels, depending on qualifications and experience, and consistent with university policy. Qualified applicants should be writers with excellent records of publication and demonstrated experience or interest in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Significant national or international publications in literary journals and/or anthologies, and a minimum of one full-length poetry collection published or under contract is required.

The successful candidate will teach four courses per academic year and participate fully in all activities of the Program in Creative Writing, including serving in rotation as one of the directors of the undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate components. Other responsibilities include advising graduate students, continuing research and publication, and participating in department service.

MFA or PhD. in English or Creative Writing-- poetry

Qualifications:

An MFA or PhD in English or Creative Writing --poetry is required. Qualified applicants will be writers with excellent records of publication and demonstrated experience or interest in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring eligibility for employment in the United States on or before the effective date of the appointment.
