About the Opportunity

Responsibilities:

The Center for the Future of Higher Education & Talent Strategy invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate position focused on the project, “Talent, Skills, and Credentials: Studying the Landscape and Positioning the Ecosystem,” including its principal workstreams related to analyzing the landscape of skills frameworks; the adoption of digital credentials in the workforce; and new developments in human capital measurement and reporting.

Key tasks include primary and secondary research activities such as qualitative research engaging corporate leaders and national experts, literature reviews, competitive scanning, market analysis, and analytical writing. This is a one-year, grant-funded appointment (calendar year 2022) with potential for renewal based on continued funding and satisfactory performance. The position is full-time and benefits-eligible.

We are seeking candidates with research experience and interests aligned closely with the Center for the Future of Higher Education & Talent Strategy: http://www.northeastern.edu/cfhets. Applicants must have completed a doctorate in Education, Business, Economics, or another related Social Science discipline. We expect the applications of the strongest candidates to describe how their research interests and experience align with studying the intersection of work and learning, and in particular the behaviors of employers and dynamics in the job market. The salary is competitive with other postdoctoral programs, and postdoctoral research associates have access to university health care plans. The associate will be situated in the Center and have access to the broader scholarly resources of Northeastern University.

Qualifications:

A Doctoral degree in Education, Business, Economics, or a related field is required by the appointment start date. We seek a social scientist with training and research experience related to talent strategy, hiring practices, business research, and the education ecosystem, with the ability to undertake substantially full-time research or scholarship under the supervision of a senior scholar.
