Job Description Summary

Under the direction of the Director, ERP Solution Services provides functional guidance in the operation of the College’s application systems. Serves as team leader for the Business Solutions Analyst group and promotes a synergistic team environment. Perform analytical tasks and activities related to developing and maintaining application systems to include conducting analyses of business processes and functions, developing system and application program requirements, developing specifications, and testing and implementing them in collaboration with users and technical staff. The Senior Business Solutions Analyst establishes efficient and effective processes related to Ellucian products and Third Party applications.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology, Management Information Systems or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in business analysis, business relationship management IBRM ), systems analysis, project management, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of application software and the relationships that exist between different modules.
  • Ability to lead a team with minimal supervision.
  • Creative problem-solving skills for translating problems to solutions.
  • Understanding of the complexity of an integrated ERP system functionality and the relationship with associated systems.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Formal training experience and/or database management expertise is preferred
  • Dedication to providing excellent client service is essential
  • Strong presentation, communication, organization and analytical skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Supervise and evaluate Business Solutions Analysts.
  • Functions as team leader for the Business Solutions Analysts group and promotes a synergistic team environment.
  • Guides users in optimizing the use of the Ellucian Products and Third-Party applications.
  • Collaborates with colleagues to develop and implement custom solutions meeting the Users functional business needs.
  • Develops and/or assist with requirements specifications, working with colleagues and Users.
  • Leads and/or conduct definition and analysis of business requirements, procedures and problems to develop effective solutions, and to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise in various business processes.
  • Coordinates the testing of system solutions, User acceptance signoff and assist with production implementation.
  • Creates, assists, and executes test plans with Users to confirm that technical solutions meet specifications and quality assurance.
  • Conducts one-on-one and user group planning sessions and provides training covering features and functions of application systems.
  • Develop effective functional and technical procedural documentation.
  • Informs and coaches users about best practices in higher education and functional business operations.
  • Research and documents data workflows, logical business processes and interfaces in conjunction with functional area use and best practices.
  • Assists with identifying and coordinating software update changes, testing and production implementation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to work Monday thru Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
  • As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
  • A background investigation will be conducted prior to the offer of employment. A signed authorization for the release of personal information will be required if selected for an interview.
