Job Description

The University of Missouri Office of Undergraduate Studies is seeking a dynamic, collaborative leader to serve as Strategic Communications Consultant and support students’ journeys through Mizzou.

We are looking for a Strategic Communications Consultant to develop and execute a strategic communication plan for Undergraduate Studies and the 14 programs within the division.

This role’s primary responsibility will be to tell the story of undergraduate education and programs by highlighting the talents and achievements of our many talented students, faculty, advisers and staff.

Embedded in the Office of Undergraduate Studies, this full-time staff position will report to the Director of Student Communications while supporting the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies. The position may supervise student communicators.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
-Coordinate marketing and advertising for the Office of Undergraduate Studies and its 14 programs
-In partnership with the Joint Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing, write and edit feature stories for university websites and publications
-In partnership with the MU News Bureau, write, edit and distribute press releases, media advisories and hometown news releases.
-Maintain a social media presence for the Office of Undergraduate Studies and advise the undergraduate programs on social media strategy
-Serve as editor of publications, reports and presentations as needed
-Supervise student assistants
-Advise the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies and the Undergraduate Studies programs leaders on appropriate communications and marketing tactics
-Prepare talking points, speeches and presentations for the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies and the Undergraduate Studies program leaders
-Collaborate with the Joint Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing and other campus communicators in promoting Undergraduate Studies.

Salary

Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Salary Range: $47,476 - $56,936/ year

Grade: GGS-9E

Shift

8 am – 5 pm, Monday-Friday

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Skills in photography, graphic design, and multimedia content development and experience in higher education is preferred.
