JOB DESCRIPTION

The University of Dallas, Constantin College of Liberal Arts, Department of Physics invites applications for an affiliate assistant professor of physics, with the ability to teach introductory courses for scientists and pre-health students and upper-division courses and laboratories.

Courses such as electronics, optics and/or condensed matter physics are particularly desirable and an ability to diversify the department’s offerings in other ways is welcome. The teaching load for this position is three lecture courses per semester or a lecture/laboratory course-load equivalent.

Position to start in Fall 2022 and continue until May 2023.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teaching required Physics majors courses and labs
  • Teaching required physics courses for science majors, including pre-health
  • Teaching upper class electives for Physics majors with labs
  • Actively participating in the life of the department

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT                                

  • D. in Physics (or related disciplinary field)
  • Commitment to teaching
  • Experience teaching

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS                                                                      

  • Experience teaching upper level Physics such as electronics, optics, condensed matter or other advanced labs
  • Evidence of innovative education practices
