Appointment: One-year visiting assistant professor in the Gender and Queer Studies Program for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Responsibilities:

Teach five courses for the year, to include two sections of GQS 201: Introduction to Gender, Feminist, and Queer Theories; one section of GQS 360: Genealogies and Theories—Gender, Feminist, and Queer Theories; one GQS elective; one first-year writing seminar.

Qualifications:

A doctoral degree (ABD considered) in Women's, Gender, and/or Sexuality Studies or a relevant filed in the Arts, Humanities, or Social Sciences and a commitment to liberal arts education are required. We particularly seek a colleague with training as an historian and/or with fluency in archival research and practices. Candidates with experience in collaborative or community engaged research and/or a history of developing civically and historically engaged experiential learning opportunities (in government, museums and historical societies, and/or activist/social service environments) are highly desired.

About the Gender and Queer Studies Program:

The Gender and Queer Studies Program offers a sound educational experience centered on an intersectional analysis of feminist, gender, and queer theories and gender and sexuality studies as they play out across all valences of life. The program offers an undergraduate major and minor, with courses contributed by faculty housed in 18 departments across the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Life Sciences.
