Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Under supervision of the Project Manager, responds to the research and reporting needs of the project teams working to increase student enrollment and graduation rates. Helps to design, implement, and maintain queries and reports; provides analysis and insights to support a variety of projects. Works with moderate guidance from others and utilizes prior knowledge and training in the performance of duties. Acts as subject matter expert for reporting questions and issues.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Gathers information and concepts from various sources, prepares and formats data and develops reports according to LSC Style Guide
  2. Utilizes multiple tools (POWER BI, Excel, Access) to create reports and analyze data
  3. Interprets reports and provides insights to the department’s leadership to support their decision-making process
  4. Evaluates effectiveness of reporting processes and makes procedural recommendations for process improvements
  5. Solves a range of problems from straight forward and direct to semi-complex, such as technology and research issues and recommends effective and efficient solutions
  6. Escalates issues that are beyond the scope of this position to the Project Manager or appropriate area
  7. Assists in the improvement of the GradUP cohort tracking system; analyzes results and reports for the appropriate project teams
  8. Collaborates and communicates with various departments and other LSC-UP groups to collect and analyze information as needed
  9. Responsible for other reasonable duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Proficiency with common office software (i.e., Microsoft Word and Excel)
  • Proficiency with Power BI and ability to perform query functions
  • Knowledge of current data analysis methodologies and tools, including predictive analysis and trend analysis
  • Knowledge of tracking systems and analytical tools; data science experience
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, learn quickly and adapt to changes
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate the detailed information in a concise and understandable format
  • Ability to multi-task; ability to plan, organize, maintain detail orientation, and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with diverse groups and to deliver positive customer service and project outcomes
  • Must be a solution-oriented, team player
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field and at least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience working in data analysis in a Higher Education setting
Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $21.05.
