Job Summary:
The Senior Treasury Analyst will support the Accounting Department by performing all duties related to Treasury management – 40% Cash management; 25% Banking relationships; 35% Audit and other. This position works under the supervision of the Controller.
Job Duties and Accountabilities:
- Responsible for managing and reporting of weekly cash, cash positioning, cash forecasting, assistance in maintaining banking relationships and providing support for audit and compliance, and supporting debt compliance
- This position will report to the Controller and interact with the Chief Operating Officer, as well as other members of management
40% - Cash Management
- Daily cash positioning; Prepare and monitor daily cash position reports and cash-related transactions of the University’s bank accounts in accordance with policies and procedures
- Perform reconciliation and reporting of prior day cash accounting
- Prepare ad hoc reporting of cash balances and investments for management use, as requested
- Adhere to all internal controls and help identify process improvements
- Assist with updating and maintaining the cash forecast model; requires frequent interaction with other finance personnel and a working knowledge of budgetary and cash forecasting processes – preferably at an institution of higher education
25% - Banking Relationships
- Assist with all bank account documentation activities: opening/closing accounts, changes to signatories, and maintenance of users on banking portals
- Make recommendations regarding existing or new bank services
- Track all bank fees and perform monthly analysis of fees
- Assist with P-Card administration and monitoring
35% - Audit and Other
- Support the Accounting team in preparing audit requests (external audits, government audits, and internal audits)
- Assist with creating and maintaining Treasury policies and procedures
- Support ad-hoc Treasury projects as needed
- Assist with capital requests as needed
Education and/or Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent experience - Strongly Preferred.
- At least 7 to 10 years of Treasury analysis or similar type experience- Required.
- Must have excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills to work with all levels of the University - Required.
- Ability to work well both independently and with others and respond sensitively to clients, staff, and volunteers - Required.
- Familiarity and high comfort level with web-based technology and proficiency in Microsoft Office software are required.
- Comprehensive understanding of cash modeling, forecasting, experience and demonstrated abilities for working in a fast paced, multi-cultural setting. Strong organizational skills, accurate, and detail-oriented.
