The School of Social Work at Louisiana State University announces the availability of a 9-month position at the rank of Associate Professor of Social Work & Child and Family Studies beginning ASAP or August 2022.
 

The responsibilities of this position include teaching face to face and/or online courses within the Social Work program (BSW, MSW, and PhD; school social work focus) and the Child and Family Studies (CFS) program (BS and MS; child development focus); maintaining/developing externally funded research programs; and providing service to the University, College, School, and profession. This is a 9-month position with a significant administrative component within the School and the College, for which past administrative experience, grants management, and discipline specific expertise is required. The position will be hired at the rank of associate professor, without tenure at the initial hire, with mandatory tenure consideration to be made per contract at a future date.

 

Minimum Qualifications/Specific Experience:

  • Earned PhD in Social Work, Child and Family Studies, Human Development, or a related field
  • Previously earned tenure and promotion to the rank of associate professor
  • Five or more years higher education administrative experience
  • Active child development and/or school social work research agenda

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • Five or more years of face-to-face and online teaching experience at the university level
  • Successful record of grant funded research programs
  • Previous service to the College, School, and profession in a university setting
