The Position: Under the general direction of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Student Life, the Director of Fiscal and Business Operations is responsible for the planning, development, and administration of all Student Life General Fund budgets and other non-General Fund fiscally related resources of the division, totaling more than $18M. The Director of Fiscal and Business Operations will: oversee the allocation and deployment of human resources for the division in accordance with the Vice President's expressed directives and all applicable University policies and procedures; advise the Vice President and other Student Life leadership on fiscal matters related to human resources including hiring, and interpreting and communicating collective bargaining agreements; update internal standards and procedures; serve as a general operations manager for various ongoing division-wide efforts and initiatives as well as providing oversight and direction for special projects; adhere to federal, State, CSU and University guidelines, policies, and procedures in areas of financial management, human resources management, facilities operations, administrative processes, accounting, procurement, and property management; monitor the Vice President's Reserve and prepare divisional fiscal assessment summaries and reports as necessary; coordinate the utilization of university financial systems within Student Life, as well as maintaining standardized procedures for department revenue and expenditure tracking developed for use by support staff; facilitate new and existing employee training; supervise the Division ITC and assist in the coordination of work for all IT related support staff; chair and convene with the Division Technology Steering Committee addressing all IT related initiatives within the Division; represent the division and serve as the Student Life liaison for various University committees and working groups such as University Resources, CMS Financials, Human Resources Advisory, the Campus Baseline Committee, the Campus Physical Planning Committee, Space Management Subcommittee, Risk Management and Safety Committee, Property Survey Board, Campus Sustainability Committee, Ad Hoc Alternative Modes of Transportation Committee, and other inter/intra-divisional committees as assigned. In addition, the incumbent may be called upon to coordinate Divisional professional development, team building, and training efforts as needed.

Required Qualifications and Experience: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and at least five years of progressively responsible experience in financial management and operations, preferably in a higher education setting. Experience managing complex operations and programs with substantial operating budgets. Demonstrated successful leadership skills and the capacity to work collaboratively with diverse constituencies, including students, faculty, staff, and external community members. The ability to think critically and strategically, with a focus on the continuous quality improvement of services to students. Must be detail-oriented, with excellent written and oral communication skills.

Desired Qualifications and Experience: A master's degree in public or business administration (or related field) from an accredited institution. Experience with CSU financial management and human resources systems and reporting is highly preferred.

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Appointment:  The Administrator II appointment will be made under the guidelines for management and supervisory employees of the California State University. All rights and benefits associated with this appointment are governed by the Management Personnel Plan.
