Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education required to ensure success in this
position:
• Bachelors required
• Masters preferred
Experience required to ensure success in this
position:
• Five years of administration office work
required, preferable in an academic records environment
Special skills, knowledge and abilities:
• Excellent oral/written communication and
superior interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to
interact and communicate with a wide variety of diverse
individuals.
• Strong organizational skills and capacity to
set priorities. Attention to detail.
• Computer skills including data processing and
financial spreadsheets.
• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting
procedures.
• Builds and maintains positive working
relationships within the Division/Department and across the campus
through open communication and collaboration.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
License, certification, or registration
necessary:
• Valid driver’s license
• Required background checks
Physical requirements:
• Ability to navigate campus/public buildings and
grounds
• Ability to travel independently by car and/or
plane
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 20
lbs.
Environmental conditions:
• Professional office environment with
interruptions and noise due to frequent visitors, students, staff
and faculty
• Occasional travel required for meetings,
conferences, etc.
Ability to operate the following vehicles or
equipment:
• Standard office equipment: computer, fax,
phone, etc.
• Vehicle – college vans/cars
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed

• Serve as resource and as a back-up for the
Registrar
• Assist registrar with the decisions and
operations of the Registrar’s Office
• Perform duties of Registrar as needed
• Create, review, and analyze student Degree
Audits, Program, test, troubleshoot and maintain the core and every
degree, major, concentration and minor in degreeworks
• Oversee the evaluation of transcripts for
transferability of recorded course work
• Evaluate and process Study Abroad course
work
• Collect, record and process Mid-Term and final
Grades
• Create Curriculum Guides for all majors and
minors annually
• Oversee the recording of Academic Placement
Tracking achievements
• Oversee the Application of AP, CLEP, and IB
scores
• Manage the declaration of major process Begin,
process end and clean up the declaration of major process. Work
with the program chairs to ensure the timely completion of process.
Communicate with students, evaluate records for completion, and
place holds on student records that are not complete
• Analyze, approve or reject, and process
Extension of Terms
• Serve as Student Labor Supervisor. Hire, train,
evaluate, reward and/or reprimand students for the work that they
do
• Serve as TRAAC Committee Member
• Determine and record Teacher Education
Certification in cooperation with the Teacher Education
Program
• In support of Berea College’s great commitments
this position requires student supervision. The fourth great
commitment is to promote learning and serving in community through
the student labor program, honoring the dignity and utility of all
work, mental and manual, and taking pride in work well done.
The Supervision would include scheduling, assigning and approving
work performed. Developing students about common workplace
acumen and giving them tangible work experience is an expected

Other roles/duties will be assigned as necessary to assist the
College in the attainment of the goals set forth and the
enhancement of a positive, respectful learning environment for all
