The Department of Marketing, Communication and Community Relations (MCCR) is part of the Division of Enrollment Management, Communication and Student Affairs (EMCSA). EMCSA units work creatively and diligently to attain optimal enrollments, enhance student development and success, and coordinate enrollment activities with academic units and the overall mission of the institution, with the purpose of ensuring seamless systems and positive experiences for our students. The division consistently supports the university's efforts to enhance its reputation as a premier comprehensive regional university. EMCSA departments aspire to become the service leaders on campus in pursuit of ongoing enrollment, retention, and student affairs successes. It continues to build the staff structures, systems, and development opportunities necessary to achieve the division's goals. MCCR serves as the campus source for communications with internal and external constituents and plays a leading role in conveying CSU Pueblo's mission and image to stakeholders. We strive for accuracy in information, consistency in presentation, and quality in product.
Description of Job
This is a, full-time, 12-month position. The Academic Affairs
Marketing Coordinator (AAMC) is a member of the Marketing,
Communications & Community Relations (MCCR) Team and is
responsible for leading the marketing and communications efforts of
CSU Pueblo’s academic programs and departments including assisting
in the operationalizing of program recruitment goals through the
dissemination of strategic messaging and marketing collateral,
including printed, electronic, digital, web, etc., with a focus on
K-12 outreach and traditional student recruitment;
developing and providing creative marketing collateral, which
reinforces the university’s brand and messaging. The AAMC will
support and market multiple academic programs within the division
of Academic Affairs, as prioritized by the provost’s office,
including but not limited to its on-campus, online and hybrid
undergraduate and graduate courses housed within the university’s
academic colleges, schools and programs. Any outward-facing
marketing efforts will be coordinated by this position in
coordination with MCCR. This position will help coordinate
the Social Media outlets and maintain active engagement for
multiple programs.
The AAMC reports to the Executive Director of Marketing,
Communications and Community Relations and is a member of the
Marketing Communications team. Strategic direction and priorities
will be assigned by the Provost, based on the priorities of the
office of Academic Affairs.
The Academic Affairs Marketing Coordinator is required to be able
to work on-campus or remotely when necessary.
Primary Duties
Brand and Creative leadership:
- Under the artistic direction of the MCCR Creative Director, serve as the primary creative and marketing coordinator for strategically-assigned programs and courses in Academic Affairs. This includes coordinating all AA marketing/communications projects, including facilitation of project completion with other MCCR team members, including academic-related publications and marketing collateral (providing print, digital, photo, web and video support), in support of brochures, photo archives, videos posts, print ads, posters, Social Media posts, flyers, emails, mailers, etc.
- Working as a member of the MCCR team, coordinate all marketing and communication initiatives of AA with those of the university’s institutional marketing and enrollment efforts, including all digital marketing, ensuring a cohesive and coordinated marketing push from CSU Pueblo.
- Responsible for working with the CSU Pueblo Web Manager and the academic web editors to update the Academic Affairs and other academic related content, webpages - ensuring that programs are described accurately.
- Work in collaboration with the CSU Pueblo Creative Director and serve on the CSU Pueblo Executive Marketing Group (EMG) to ensure all AA marketing and communication collateral produced and created for AA reflect the institutional brand standards of CSU Pueblo.
- Maintain an archive of all marketing materials, partner agreements, and marketing budget documents.
- Provide creative support in short turnaround time; reviewing existing content from various sources and restructuring content to aid creative design.
- Coordinate the creation, repurposing, and amending of design concepts and layouts for program clients including photo shoots and selection, digital illustration, and font usage adhering to university brand standards; update existing designs and materials as needed.
- Collaborate with members of the various academic programs, including faculty, students and staff, as necessary, on projects through creative brainstorming and strategic development that solve program awareness and enrollment goals. Effectively communicate design concepts visually (i.e., concept sketches, illustrations, mock-ups).
- Effectively manage assigned projects, on time, within budget, and within the scope. Lead colleagues involved in the project, ensuring that tasks are completed on schedule. Addresses operational problems in a timely fashion. Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Prepare electronic files according to final delivery requirements and checks printer proofs
Strategic (Recruitment) Marketing
- Working with the Executive Director of MCCR, provide strategic marketing leadership and recommendations for departments, providing support and guidance that allows the development of differentiated marketing plans and tactics built on program strengths.
- Organize faculty demos/lectures/seminars in appropriate community and K-12 locations that also supports the recruitment efforts of the programs
- Collaborate with departments and University Tracks Centers to support outreach and recruiting efforts in K-12 and Community Colleges through engaging marketing materials, social media support and effective planning and preparation.
- Attend AA staff and department meetings, when appropriate, as determined by the Provost, to ensure a full understanding of the needs and priorities of AA and its programs.
- Meet regularly with deans and faculty to develop and implement marketing strategies based on priories set by the Provost.
- Serve as liaison between AA, MCCR and Admissions for internal and external marketing and awareness building of AA initiatives for recruitment-related communication and promotion efforts.
- Assist the Executive Director and MCCR staff by providing data on programs and industry-related research in support of departmental and institutional awareness and recruitment marketing efforts.
Strategic Communications
- Working with academic program representatives, develop strategic, impactful messaging appropriate to their programs and targeted to key audiences - focusing on K-12 outreach and traditional student recruitment.
- Manage social media posts on a regular basis as well as inform campus, students and the community stakeholders of the many programs in Academic Affairs.
- Collaborate with appropriate department and program contacts and MCCR staff on content to ensure all departments and programs, are consistent in messaging and brand to effectively reach target audiences
Ancillary Duties:
Assist and provide support for campus-wide initiatives including
Commencement, Convocation, President’s Gala and other institutional
events that require marketing and communication support

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, graphic design, communication, business or related field from a regionally-accredited institution
- Proficiency in Adobe Cloud Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) and Microsoft Office
- Understand the demands of digital and print design

- Knowledge of Spanish, particularly in written form.
- 3 or more years’ experience in marketing and/or web content development
- Experience with photographic and video direction, composition and production
- Experience with general digital and event photography and videography with
- knowledge regarding file/ archive management
Condition of Employment
